Theme: The Divine Feminine
The goddess, strong woman, nurturer and warrior, benevolent and fierce, is an exciting, invigorating, and sometimes challenging way to conceptualize the divine. for thousands of years, the feminine was revered and seen as an integral part of the community and as part of spiritual practice.
Workshop: Yoginis of the Past and Present
When we consider the Yogini as a human practitioner we see a path of unconventionality. It is important to acknowledge that not every woman is a Yogini. Even if she is a practitioner of Yoga asana, she may not necessarily be a Yogini as the definition extends beyond the limited presentation of Yoga we often find outside of South Asia. Yoginis of past and present are women who embody a spiritual, social and cultural status that is outside the consensus patriarchal culture. Yoginis are “women who dare to define themselves in relation to the metaphysical rather than the social.”

Theme: On Transformation
Spring brings thoughts of growth and transformation. This month we are looking at transforming trauma.
Workshop: Healing Post – Traumatic – Stress – Disorder with Yoga and Theta Therapy
Trauma is a medical term that means injury. While not always easy to fix, medical traumas are usually recognizable, at least to a trained professional. On the other hand, psychological trauma is something that can remain hidden. Often invisible in the weeks and years that follow a traumatic event, survivors of trauma can struggle to find adequate words, or a complete memory, that allows them to share and process the experience.
The effort to understand and heal trauma is a vital component of holistic healing.
Recent studies and new possibilities for treatment has made trauma something of a buzzword. More and more, we are able to understand how trauma can impact well. The link between unresolved trauma and/or PTSD and substance abuse is irrefutable, yet PTSD does not typically go away with abstinence from substances and it may often be the cause of relapse. The underlying trauma requires specific treatment, attention, and care.

Theme: Yoga and Neuroscience
Yoga transforms. Given recent poles that estimate at least 20 million people practice Yoga in the United States alone, it’s easy to find individuals who can attest to its mental, physical, and/or spiritual benefits. But up until recently, the claims have been purely anecdotal. But now we see a growing body of research shows how Yoga can best influence positive neuroplasticity.
Workshop: The Neuroscience of Mindfulness
Lets look at the science behind mindfulness and how it’s actually changing the brain.
Meditation Circle: Calming Anxiety
